Spanish, God, the Spirit, etc.

I just emailed my spanish professor from last year, and asked if I could come in and speak spanish with her. She offered to help me a couple weeks ago! I am really excited. I would like to learn spanish so I can live in the barrio and talk to my neighbors.

I am talking to God about all the new responsibilities I will have come next year. He told me last night that spiritual knowledge is better than practical knowledge. I agree. I need to learn more about the Spirit, because we are spiritual before we are human.

Love you neighbor as you love yourself. I have been thinking about my neighbors, and how I would like them to treat me. I want to treat them like that...how i want to be treated.

So, we need to have a little party for them all. It will be fun.

Man, I was reading 1&2 John, and this Jesus guy is pretty sweet. I am glad he is chasing me. Wow. Can't believe the amount of love he is. and friendship, brotherhood, humility, patience, and so on and on and on. I want to let him in.

It is so crazy to think that I believe in Jesus, but I can say what I just said. It is always a process. Donald Miller, in Searching for God Knows What, noted that he hates relationship. He hates giving away himself. He realized that it is pry the same way with God. That is why we cook up all these formulas for getting to God. Become Roman Catholic or Baptist or join this association and you will really find God. God is relational just as he made us to be in his image. Only thing is...he gave everything...i have never had a friend give everything. It has been like Mr. Miller, trying to be open and loving, but always falling short. Jesus just decided that we needed to be saved from that. God thought that we were cool enough to give up his Son for a while (kill His Son!) so that we could know the perfect relationship King.

And that is not the end of it!! We get to know this King and his son and can start to live like him! The Bible, this book proclaiming this relationship with God, says that we can NOW throw off ANYTHING that hinders and run the race set out for us. We have this tool called reconciliation. Jesus died so we can be reconciled to him and to our friends. That means we don't have to hold grudges or run from friends that are imperfect, because they can choose to be made perfect too. Jesus already took all the mistakes and killed them. He fell down the stairs for us...we can now keep going from glory to glory to the next level of glory. Because Jesus and God decided we are worth His life.

I guess the rest of this I will learn in the years to come. But right now, I know his love is made complete as I love others. I can only love because I was first loved by Jesus and God! And the Holy Spirit. Bring on the love God. Keep chasing me, because I need you.
