Blue Skies

The sky has been so blue for the past couple of weeks. I look at the sky a lot, and it is usually blue so it really isn't that extraordinary that it has been blue. I have been remarking at the blue sky mostly because it seems to be the one thing in nature that doesn't go away when i'm in the city. It is so wonderful, and when a few clouds are scattered around it is even more beautiful and mild.

We have a cherry blossum tree outside out window. Some of my roommates picked some off yesterday. The onset of spring brings out that side of people. Now we have pretty blossums on the table!

Today we had our first morning service for church. A lot of people where really excited to have it earlier in the day. It was a hard thing getting up this morning since we stayed out so late, but I made it. It is kind of wierd now because I am home alone with really nothing else to do for the afternoon. We went to Allegra's Pizza for lunch and hung out for quite a while. Davey, Rebecca's friend, came with us and we road the subway home together.

Right now it kind of a miracle that I am online, because my internet only works at certain times. It is so funny! I try to use it whenever it is connecting. I sent an email and logged onto AIM for kicks.

The house across the street is abandoned. I wish someone would buy it and fix it up. I guess the city owns it, so someone would have to work with them to buy it. If they don't want to sell it i wish they would at least make it subsidized housing or something. I live in a nice neighborhoos, although it feels less and less authentic as students move in. I feel sad for the residents sometimes because they are forced to move farther north into the city. Other people have been upgrading their homes and making them look really great. That is encouraging as well. Our home used to be a full house where a family lived. One of my neighbors said that the father got hooked on coke and had the house taken away. He used up his money for the drugs. At least they owned the home for a bit. It is such a good feeling to invest in a community like this. I hope the familiy found help somewhere.

These are my last few weeks of school: four or five weeks left. I think I have six papers to write, including the one I am writing today. One of them is mostly written, I will have to put some last minute things together before I turn it in. One it an annotated bib, so it isn't exactly a paper. It won't take as much time as a paper, I hope not anyway.

My little brother is graduating as well, God has really blessed him in his life. He has a lot of opportunities to use his gifts in the church and with his friends. He is the king of making new friends. I learned to lighten up from him. He knows how to speak life and truth with people and still keep things cool. He is good at having fun. I like riding in the car going really fast sometimes with him listening to Classic Rock with the windows open, hair blowing everywhere. Those are some fun times!

Next year i will be working somewhere, not sure where:) I am excited to see what happens. I am hoping to make some more contacts with people and network in this process. It is so much more effective than sending out random resumes. I am not sure I want a job at Bethanna- they pay pretty low and I am not that excited about it. Maybe it's just me not being ready to work and thinking of other things. The place just seems so unprofessional.

Roomies came home, the end...
