Cupcakes, Curtains and Banana Bread

I have made them all! (See above title to the post). This is a quick post, as I am in the middle of making a second curtain for our laundry room.

10/8 was my last day of work, tomorrow will be my third week off!
If you are wondering what in the world I must be doing with my time, here is a short run down.
  • 10/9 we left for the Midwest, visited my parents in OH, then to my brother and sister in-laws in IN. We had a nice time with my parents and a little adventure with my brother. Got to check out South Bend area a little bit more with my brother.
  • Saturday we drove into Chicago and picked up a packet for Hubie's race then drove to his old neighborhood. We saw the houses where his brother Clark lived, plus Jenny's school where she worked.
  • We had an awesome hotel- it was so modern and nice. There was an awesome view of Michigan Ave and the lake from our window. We ended up switching the room unfortunately since it did not have a bathtub (necessity for a Marathon runner:)).
  • Sunday was the marathon, and whole new experience for me! Our hotel was so close to the starting line, Hubie just walked over 15 minutes before the start! Hubie did not do as well as he wished, but was able to finish. It was so hot that day, so many runners were passing out and such. It was a little scary watching from the sidelines, waiting for Hube to cross the finish.
  • Edna and Mike, Hubie's sister and brother in law met us in Chicago for the race. It was awesome to finally check out where they live, and meet the newest addition to their family, Ana!
  • For the last two legs of our trip, we spent the night at my parents' Indiana lake house and stopped by Clark and Jenny's house in Holsopple, PA.
So, you may understand why I am resting now...making bread, curtains and such. It has been fun to reawaken the "homemaker" part of me!
